Here’s my tried-and-true recipe for teriyaki chicken, which will allow you to explore Japanese cuisine without ever leaving your house. It makes for a fantastic supper.
Chicken teriyaki ingredients
- A pair of double breasts, each weighing roughly 1200 grams
- Stores sell 300 g of teriyaki sauce.
- Two tablespoons cooking oil (such as olive oil)
- two teaspoons of finely ground sesame seeds; try adding a few finely chopped
- chives to improve the flavor.
Additive components
- Brown rice cooked with jasmine or broccoli
Teriyaki chicken
Make the teriyaki sauce first.
To make at least one kilogram of chicken breast meat, use 300 grams of teriyaki sauce. Store-bought sauce is already prepared; it’s frequently packaged in glass jars. But I recommend using my tried-and-true recipe for the ideal teriyaki sauce.
Toast the sesame seeds in the second step.
It’s worthwhile to bake light sesame seeds during your free time. Sesame seeds are called for in the recipe, but I recommend doubling up on the baking and putting it in a jar to use in other dishes.
Thus, add at least two teaspoons of light sesame seeds to a dry pan. Bake them for a few minutes on the lowest burner setting to give them a little browning. Turn the pan over a few times to make sure the sesame seeds toast evenly. Pour into a small dish when ready. You can add as much or as little roasted sesame seeds to your food.
Slice the meat in step three.
After removing the cartilage and veins from two large (at least 600 grams each) chicken breasts, cut them into pieces that are at least 2 cm long.
Step 4: Combine the sauce and meat.
Preheat a big frying pan with a thick bottom. When the oil is two tablespoons, add it to the pan and add the cut chicken breasts. Pour all 300 grams of teriyaki sauce (you can use less sauce if you’d like) over the meat right away. After combining all the ingredients, cook for approximately five minutes over medium heat. Because the meat will release its fluids, more sauce will be generated, but it won’t be as thick.
Step 5: Include chives
Add the chicken pieces and fry for a maximum of 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Lastly, top with a heaping helping of freshly chopped chives.
Step 6: Present rice and vegetables.
Serve your preferred rice with the teriyaki chicken. Add some roasted sesame seeds to the entire meal. To add a little spice to your meal, top it with some chili flakes or ground chili. It’s also a good idea to cook the broccoli on its own.
Savor your food.
