One of the best recipes made solely from potatoes is dumplings. Potato dumplings made at home are quick and easy to make. Three materials and a small amount of willingness are all you need. What are you going to serve them?
Ingredients:
- Two kg of potatoes
- A teaspoon of salt
- two tablespoons of potato starch
You’ll need the following to make dumplings:
Multiple bowls; a potato grater and ricer; cotton cloth, flannel diaper, or gauze for pressing potatoes; A strainer
homemade dumplings
Just don’t peel the fresh potatoes. About 1.5 kilograms of peeled potatoes should be received.
1/3: Simmer 0.5 kilograms of uncooked potatoes in salted water until they become tender.
2/3: Grate roughly 1 kilogram of raw potatoes, then either mix them or put them through a fine-mesh strainer.
After carefully draining the boiling potatoes, grind them. When they are still warm, it is better to grate them or put them through a press. Squeeze as much water as possible out of the raw, shredded potatoes. It would be ideal to use a large gauze, a clean, unused flannel diaper, or a cotton kitchen cloth for this purpose. I advise against using a strainer.
Cover the basin with cheesecloth. Add little amounts of the potato mixture with a spoon. Squeeze tightly over a bowl after gently rolling into a ball. After the potatoes are boiled and pressed, add the dry ingredients to the bowl.
To the dish containing the crushed potatoes, add 2 tablespoons of potato starch, shredded, and pressed raw potatoes.
After you squeeze the raw potatoes, remove all of the water from the basin. Remove any accumulated flour by skimming it off and adding it to the potato mixture. Mix thoroughly after adding a small amount of salt, perhaps using your hands.
In a big pot, bring the water to a boil. When it begins to boil, add a tablespoon of salt to season it. Create five to seven walnut-sized balls out of the potato mixture, then dip them into hot water. Allow the dumplings to settle for a maximum of three minutes. After removing each dumpling and letting them drain completely, arrange them in a salad bowl or on a large platter. Do this with all of the dumplings.
